In today's video we go over Achilles Tendon Exercise Progressions (EASY to HARD):

As physical therapists, we know that Achilles tendinitis (or more accurately achilles tendinopathy) is a common and debilitating condition that can greatly impact a patient's quality of life.  While there are many active treatment options available, exercise selection is one of the most important factors to consider when designing a rehabilitation program for patients with Achilles pain.  This becomes even more important when considering exercise selection for patients after achilles tendon repair surgery.

When it comes to exercise selection for the Achilles, it is important to remember that not all exercises are created equal.  Some exercises may exacerbate Achilles tendon pain, while others may be just what the doctor ordered. That's why it is crucial to choose exercises that are appropriate and effective for patients with Achilles pain.

In today's episode we use some great information from a recent research article outlining achilles tendon exercises from easy to hard.  Check out the video below to see what I'm talking about:

In conclusion, exercise selection is a critical factor to consider when designing a rehabilitation program for patients with Achilles tendon issues. By choosing effective exercises that meet the patient where they are in terms of tolerance and stage of rehab following achilles repair physical therapists can help their patients to recover from these conditions and return to their normal activities and training with confidence.
