Dan Pope Training April 2013

Enjoy.

Training 3/29/12 – A New Journey

Hey guys.  I spent the last year training specifically for Crossfit.  I took a hiatus from strongman and wanted to see what my potential was.  Unfortunately I ended up hurting my shoulder in the process and decided not to continue competing in the open this year.

My shoulder is healing well, I just thought it was stupid to continue pushing through workouts that were causing more damage. Continue reading

The Number 1 Way to Improve Your Crossfit Performance

Alright, well you guys heard about my last competition.  Funny thing, after finishing the competition I was an emotional wreck the next two days.  I was crying for atleast an hour every day, exploding at people if they made the slightest criticism of me and sleeping 14+ hours per day.

Anyway, I dropped the depression straight in its face and got back on my hustle.

Dan Pope’s 3rd Annual Off the Grid Open Challenge 2012 Write-Up

Crossfit OTG 2012 300x225 Dan Popes 3rd Annual Off the Grid Open Challenge 2012 Write UpIt was a bitter cold Fall morning on November 17th 2012.  I had signed up for the 2012 3rd annual off the grid open challenge at Off the Grid Crossfit in Williamstown NJ.

I wake up pumped for the day.  This is my first crossfit competition since the open earlier this year.    I’m anxious to start.  It’s a mix of excitement, feeling nauseous and feeling like I’m about to poop my pants the entire morning, the perfect storm of emotions and physical symptoms.  Continue reading

Steady Mobbin – Dan’s Training week of 10/8/2012

water balloon 274x300 Steady Mobbin Dans Training week of 10/8/2012Steadily making improvements.  I’m using a bit more foam rolling lately before stretching.  I find the foam roller really helps to lengthen my muscles better then just stretching alone.

I’ve decided to keep the outlaw Oly-lifting and strength work but follow Tribe’s met-con programming.  Really missed training with everyone else and all of the great competition.  I’m adding in my own midline/accessory work and basing it off of my weaknesses and working on improving technique on the basic crossfit exercises.  Continue reading

pimp McRide 300x225 The Outlaw Way Dans Training Week 9/17/2012

Just started the Outlaw Way programming again.  It fits well into my schedule and I didn’t feel like thinking a ton to make my own programming since I’ve been so busy at my latest clinical affiliation (Physical therapy version of an internship). Continue reading

Heyooo!  Today marks a joyous and grievous (I checked online to make sure that was actually a word, it is, and its also a starwars character to boot, nice) day.  I’m starting my third clinical affiliation for school in Vineland NJ and won’t be able to Llama Bash as frequently if at all during these next 14 weeks.  Continue reading
